While Munakata offers few opportunities to experience contemporary art,
it is rich in nature, history, and human connection.

By presenting art outside conventional spaces such as museums and galleries,
we aim to reveal new dimensions of the region and cultivate a lasting cultural foundation.

We believe that art has the power to shift perspectives,
challenge values, and even transform the way we see the world—
offering insights that go beyond simple emotional response.

At our first festival in March 2024, we received voices such as:
“This experience revealed a new side of Munakata,”
“It felt accessible yet deeply unique,”
and “It changed how I think about creativity.”

Believing in the power of art,
we will hold the 2nd Art Festival from November 1–15, 2026,
with the aim of contributing to the future of Munakata.
